See Jane Do was recently invited to partner with The White House Project (a non-partisan, non-profit organization that trains women to take the lead and run for office and founded by Marie Wilson) on their annual EPIC Awards.
We featured The White House Project in a recent See Jane Do episode and they also worked with Orpah's Leadership Project in 2008.
We are going to host a media lounge to capture the stories of extraordinary women at the EPIC 2010 awards/celebration in New York. Meryl Streep, Jill Scott, Kerry Washington and Sheryl Wudunn co-author of Half the Sky are among the incredible women who will participate in the event.
The White House Project has raised part of the funds to make the media lounge happen. Now we are striving to match their funds.
Their event is taking place on April 7th so, we are kicking off a benefit this week to raise funds and acknowledge the the importance of progressive women candidates, elected officials, community leaders and the great work of The White House Project.
